Preparing For The Site Visit

House Temperature

Optimal infrared images depend upon a substantial temperature difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures. About a 20 to 30 degree difference is best. This will be taken into account when scheduling the survey. The house temperature should remain at the survey temperature for a day ahead of the survey to allow time for the house to reach equilibrium.

Even Distribution Of Heat In The House

If any rooms have been closed off from heating, these should be opened a day ahead of the survey, to allow time for the walls to reach equilibrium.

Problem Areas Of House

Be sure to let me know of any areas of the house that have cold rooms or are drafty, so that I can make sure to evaluate why.

House Temperature

Please let me know what the temperature of the house was during the survey. Plus or minus 5 degrees is fine.

Pets

Please take in or enclose any dogs or other animals that could cause me concern. During the site survey, I will need to walk completely around the exterior of your house.
